Fall In Colorado - Beautiful Aspen Trees Turning Gold in Autumn
The Colorado Aspens are a staple of autumn and there are plenty to see in Idaho Springs!

The most recognizable thing about autumn is of course the beautiful changing leaves. And Colorado’s aspens definitely take the cake when it comes to leaf peeping.  Enjoy the scenery in and around Idaho Springs. Drive up along Fall River Road and experience the colors of fall simply popping out against the backdrop of the majestic Rocky Mountains. If you’re feeling energized from the cool, fresh air, take a gander up the glacier and get a closer look at the Colorado nature on the hike.

Virginia Canyon Road (AKA the “Oh My Gawd” Road)

Looking for a little thrill while going leaf peeping? No worries – because of course, Idaho Springs has you covered. The Virginia Canyon Road is about 8 miles and runs along the side a mountain, making for some beautiful, steep views. Look out over the ranges, and see the bright changing leaves while on this exhilarating drive. But be careful – in the snow-y times, things can get a little rocky!
