Summer In Idaho Springs Has Come & Gone Again
Summer is gone and we had a blast, now it’s time to take a look back!
What says summer in Idaho Springs like rafting, hiking, walking, and music festival-ing? Nothing! Idaho Springs does summer unlike any other mountain town and Summer 2019 was unforgettable. Whether you took on the whitewater of Clear Creek, hiked up to St. Mary’s glacier, enjoyed some fishing with Mt. Evans Trout Fishing, or enjoyed downtown’s history and culture, your summer in Idaho Springs was surely eventful and fun!
Events, Events, Events!
Glacier Fest rocked again – the rain couldn’t stop Idaho Springs from celebrating! The ore cart race was as lively as ever. Even if your cart breaks, the race must go on! Great local beer (thanks, Tommyknocker!), pork green chili mac & cheese, and more delicious food, too? Sounds like we need a highlight reel just for the food!
Tons of music means tons of fun! RapidGrass Festival, winner of Best Event in 2019’s Best Of Idaho Springs competition, was one for the books again this year! The festival transformed the Shelly-Quinn baseball fields into a bluegrass extravaganza! With people scattered all around, enjoying the music from their lawn chairs or dancing to the beat, this was certainly the place to be.
The music never stopped, with bands playing around the clock and smaller stages filling up in between sets on the main stage. It sure does look like a blast – and it was!
While summer in Idaho Springs has come to a close, we have the last months of 2019 to look forward to! With the beauty of the aspen trees in fall, more fun fall and winter events and celebrations, and skiing on the horizon, there’s so much to look forward to! We can’t wait to see what the next seasons hold.
